Alex Volzer, HHP, CMT
My name is Alex. I am a Holistic Health Practitioner and Certified Massage Therapist (#22235) with over 1300 hours of training in Nutrition, Herbology, Chinese Medicine, postural correction, Body Psychology, and Massage Therapy in Integrative Health settings (both acute and chronic). My primary interest as a Health Coach is optimal nutrition for people with food allergies and stress management skills. As a Massage Therapist, my primary interest is working with people who struggle with PTS/PTSD and trauma (see this article I wrote on Squidoo) and people who struggle with body image challenges or body dysphoria.
I'm originally from rural upstate New York but have traveled and lived all over the world. When I'm not working, I'm a part-time philosopher, scientist, a social justice advocate, and an artist. I offer a safe, confidential, accepting, and non-judgmental space to all my clients; one that is especially sensitive to those with Mental Health challenges, PTS/PTSD, and the LGBTQ-A community.
Why do I do this work?
My whole life I have struggled with severe anxiety. After 20+ years, the anxiety and stress wrecked my body and I developed multiple allergies, multiple chemical sensitivities, Interstital Cystitis, eczema, digestive problems, insomnia, and had constant pain all over my body from the tension. This led me to go to school for Holistic Health and I became a licensed Massage Therapist and certified Holistic Health Practitioner. I learned how to manage my stress and anxiety, change my diet, support my body and mind, and then help others do the same.
What I offer
- Stress Management coaching
- Nutrition coaching
- Massage & Body Therapy for acute and chronic health conditions
- Postural Correction support
- Fitness activities for beginners and small groups
- Meditation and Mindfulness classes
- Health referrals to local Integrative medical practitioners and doctors

What is Health Coaching
Working with a Health Coach is a great opportunity to reach your health and wellness goals that your doctor or health practitioner doesn't have the time to work with you on. Common goals include:
- Getting better sleep
- Managing your stress
- Eating better
- Decreasing your fatigue
- Weight loss
- Increase athletic performance
- Fix your posture
- Manage health conditions
- Identify food allergies
A typical first session is 30 minutes and includes discussing your health and lifestyle, setting goals, and finding solutions which may include 1-on-1 coaching or skills training, product recommendations, and/or referrals to other health practitioners. Follow up sessions are often check-ins discussing where you are in meeting your goals, skill building, and an opportunity to trouble-shoot challenges.

"Alex is an amazing teacher and I always leave the class feeling fresh, grounded and happy that I've learned something new! When ever I've had a question about anything he's gone out of his way to give me as much information about the subject as possible, no matter now much of a meditation newb I am. I'd been hesitant to join a meditation group in the past since I was so new to it, but I feel like I really lucked out with Alex! When I'm here I feel like I'm in a completely safe, non judgmental environment and I'd happily recommend him to everyone." ~ Paige A. |
